ABOUT
Pascal Bier is a Dutch photographer, visual artist and creative director working under the name Studio PAAR, based between the Netherlands and Cape Town.
Drawing on over a decade of experience in art direction, Pascal brings a strong conceptual approach to image-making, combining photography, fashion and visual storytelling to create distinctive and carefully considered visual worlds.
His work is defined by a refined, contemporary aesthetic with a strong sense of composition, movement and atmosphere. Exploring themes of culture, identity, intimacy and masculinity, his work balances visual impact with emotional depth. Whether working on commissioned campaigns, editorial projects or personal work, Pascal seeks to create images that feel both contemporary and deeply human.
At Studio PAAR, concept and image are closely connected. From the initial idea and creative direction through to the final photograph, Pascal approaches each project as an opportunity to create work that is visually compelling and has a clear point of view.
The name PAAR, the Dutch word for “couple”, reflects the idea of connection at the heart of the studio: between people, ideas, cultures and perspectives.
