Pascal Bier is a Dutch photographer and visual artist working under the name Studio PAAR, based between the Netherlands and Cape Town.
Drawing on a background in art direction and a life shaped by international travel, his work explores themes of identity, intimacy and human connection througha refined and emotionally sensitive visual language.
The name PAAR, the Dutch word for ‘couple’, reflects a recurring thread throughout Pascal’s practice:
the space between people, where connection, understanding and meaning arise. Whether working with individuals, relationships, or communities, his photography seeks to capture the subtle dynamics that bring us together.
