Pascal Bier is a Dutch photographer and visual artist working under the name Studio PAAR, based between the Netherlands and Cape Town.
Drawing on a background in art direction and a life shaped by international travel, his work explores themes of identity, intimacy and human connection through a refined and emotionally sensitive visual language.
The name PAAR, the Dutch word for ‘couple’, reflects a recurring thread throughout Pascal’s practice:
the space between people, where connection, understanding and meaning arise. Whether working with individuals, relationships, or communities, his photography seeks to capture the subtle dynamics that bring us together.
